Crowborough Summer Camps 2008

The Crowborough School hosted their kids Summer Camp between 18th-22nd August and their Adults Camp on 23rd and 24th August.

The kids camp had 22 participants over the week from 8.30am-4.00pm each day.

The kids had three varying Taekwon-Do sessions each day with many fun activities for the children to take part in including Giant Boxing, Sumo Wrestling, Gladiator Duel and a 45 foot inflatable assault course.

The kids also took part in a Martial Art movie from a script that instructor Mr Lear wrote. All the children had lots of fun which culminated in the assault course games on the final day with some of the children given the opportunity to grade to the next level. At the end of the camp Sophie Taylor was given a prize for the best behaved student of the camp.

24 students from various Vision schools from as far as Devon, Redhill, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Cranbrook, Uckfield and of course Crowborough enjoyed the adults camp with Mr Mark Davies 4th Degree TKD and creator of the Tactical Edge programme (military style self defence system) taking the Saturday sessions from 10.00am-5.00pm.

Many areas were covered including open hand combat and defence against weapons, finally the students relished the opportunity to learn how to use a bandana as a weapon.

On Sunday Sensei Sean Connley 4th Dan Ju-Jitsu trained the students again from 10.00am-5.00pm in break falling, throws from various angles and take downs.

The students then progressed to various defence scenarios culminating in ground combat where the students had to get a lock, strangle hold or utilise pressure points to get a submission.

Sincere thanks to the instructors who took the sessions during the Summer Camp, there has been immense positive feedback about the professionally run sessions and the knowledge that the students have now taken on.
