Otis wins The Courier South East Sports Award

On Monday evening Otis Waghorn attended the finals of the South East Sports Award ceremony at the Lingfield Park hotel. It was a packed out venue with hundreds of guests and nominees from all over the south-east and across a wide range of sports including football, rugby, cricket, gymnastics, rowing, motorsports, and athletics. After a great meal and speeches from successful sports stars the presentations began. Each category was called up and the presenter said a few lines about each nominee to accompany projected slides.

Within his category there was a gymnastic team consisting of two talented boys who had become European Champions and a racing driver who had been extremely successful in his sport recently. The winner was decided by a panel of judges from the Courier newspaper. Otis didn’t fancy his chances against such stiff competition.
I’m delighted to tell you that Otis Won!
otis2He was awarded his trophy by Julian Speroni – Crystal Palace goalkeeper in front of 350 people. He managed a small speech in which he thanked his Instructor and coaches for pushing him, the Courier newspaper group and those that voted for him.
As you can imagine he is absolutely delighted that he has won, but this would not have been possible without your support.
Thank you all very much indeed.
